Mikel Laboa Mancisidor (June 1934 – Dec 2008) was one of the Basque Country's most important singer-songwriters.

Laboa remains the patriarch of Basque music, honored by the rising generation of Basque rock and folk musicians, for example in the tribute album Txerokee, Mikel Laboaren Kantak ("Cherokee: Songs of Mikel Laboa" (1991).

Mikel Laboa saw himself from the start as a "political artist." He sought to revitalize Basque culture, dormant if not suppressed under the dictatorship of Francisco Franco. Laboa sang in the Basque language, dedicating himself to reviving not just the language, but the social status of the culture.
