May 2018 sees the release of ‘III’, the third record in a trilogy of albums from Moore Moss Rutter, three of England’s most respected and in-demand folk musicians.
Their highly-anticipated return to performing and recording together comes after a short break whilst they have individually been touring and working with the likes of Seth Lakeman, Jim Moray, False Lights and Bellowhead’s Sam Sweeney.
Moore Moss Rutter formed in 2009 and quickly rose to prominence, collecting the BBC Young Folk Award at The Brewery, London in 2011. Now, after almost a decade together, they have completed ‘III’ their first self-penned collection. The band escaped to the Welsh countryside with award winning producer Andy Bell (Martin Simpson, Jon Boden, Karine Polwart) in the late summer of 2017. They recorded the album live and in complete takes in a single room, the synchronicity and maturity within their playing is one of the main focuses of the record.
